Citizens Building and Loan Charitable
Foundation was organized in 1999 with the intention to help the Greer
Area Charitable Organizations. Since 1999 Citizens Building and Loan
Charitable Foundation has given over $281,000.00 to organizations such as
Greer Community Ministries, Greer Relief, Visions of Excellence, Greer
Christian Learning Center, Greer Soup Kitchen, Joshua's Way and others.
As a non-denominational, non-governmental organization, Daily Bread
Ministries relies solely on the generosity of the community. Our operation
of The Greer Soup Kitchen is dependent on the individuals, churches, and
businesses of Greer and the surrounding area. As one of our major
supporters, Citizens Building and Loan has been instrumental in our
ability to continue in feeding the less fortunate of our community. Their
willingness to help us in meeting our ever expanding needs has been a true
blessing to our mission and to the people of our area. Thanks from the
bottom of our hearts to all the good people at CB&L for all you do for our
work and the work of other charitable organizations in our wonderful and
caring community.

"I want to thank the directors and staff
of Citizens Building & Loan for supporting our work at Joshua's Way. Your
generosity was a great encouragement to us, and your desire to help others
is a model for all of us. CB&L is an organization with a heart."
David Rogers, President of Joshua's Way, Inc.
We are thankful that you view the Greer
Christian Learning Center as a deserving, non-profit organization to
receive the CBL Community Foundation Grant.
Cathy Neely (Director/Teacher), Greer Christian Learning Center
It would be very difficult for Greer Community Ministries to exist
without Citizens Building and Loan’s loyal, generous and continuing
support throughout the many years since our founding in 1972. During the
summer of 2005, when our charity was reviewing a reduction of our
services, CB&L gave our ministry the largest grant in our history, thereby
stabilizing our financial operations, eliminating a need for staff
reduction and ensuring the continuation of our services to the hungry and
needy of the Greater Greer area. CB&L’s generosity enables our ministry to
serve 340 meals a day in our Meals on Wheels and Senior Dining programs,
and assist over 4000 people a year in our Food Pantry and Clothing Closet
during the year.
